Q: Draymond declared that tonight Jimmy became Batman, and Buddy went from Alfred to Robin. Do you guys have any comments on that declaration?

Q: When you see Steph go down, what does that communicate to you? What are you trying to do? What did you see from Buddy when Steph goes down?

Jimmy: Yeah, I saw Butter be aggressive and make some timely shots and get stops in a big way. I think we all want 30 back, that’s for sure. But we want him to do his best for himself, best for our group in the long run and the long haul.And until then, we can hold down the fort. I know we can.

Q: Jimmy, you’ve been through these types of things before. What psychologically happens to a player? You put everything into this and then you can’t play—like, what is that going through?

But I think we’re all prepared to compete and win without him. We don’t want to, but we are prepared—and we may have to. So we’ll see what it all means and what it all says come tomorrow.

Q: You guys feed off of this though. I mean, is it like when you can do this, does it translate to what happens on the court?

Jimmy: It actually does. Because I respect Buttered so much. Because he knows whatever I’m saying—

He was like, “You know what, you’re right,” and we move on. Because the main goal is to
win. He understands that. I just want to win. I understand that he just want towin. So we’re able to talk to each other.

Q: You guys got a lot of contributions up and down. I’m curious what you thought about what he’s done really the last two games and what Spencer did today.

Buddy: Yeah. I mean, Pat was big. And Looney is a pro’s pro. You know, whenever you call his number, he’s always available. He doesn’t complain. He does his job, and he does his job at a high level.And that’s why he’s a champion.

Q: Do you think that this creates kind of a little family environment?

Jimmy: Yeah, I think we really do enjoy being around each other. We really do enjoy when somebody else is playing great. Whenever everybody else is shining, everybody’s happy. So it’s a good feeling to have this energy.
Jimmy： 沒錯，我們真的很享受彼此相處的時光，也會真心為隊友打得好感到開心。只要有人打得出色，全隊都會感到開心。所以能有這樣的能量真的很棒。

Q: And this energy and relationship kind of help your— I mean, you— when you got here, it seemed like it didn’t take long for you to be part of the group.

Buddy: We had to make sure he got his joy back. Because somehow he lost his joy. You’re not going to say where he lost his joy, but somehow he lost his joy.

Q: Jimmy, Steph’s obviously a very unique player. Not just how good he is, butthe way he plays. With him out, it seems like the offense has to change the wayit functions, and obviously a lot of it’s through you. How do you see what theoffense needs to do if he’s out for a couple games?

Jimmy: I’ve said it before. Any team with me on it, I think has a chance. And I know that any team with Steph on it does have a chance. And my guys believe ittoo. They work so hard at their craft every single day. They don’t shy away from any moment, from any matchup. They’ll do whatever you ask them to do to makesure that we have a chance of winning. And we’re going to need all hands on deck if 30 is not ready to go.

And if they don’t shoot it, I’m probably going to yell at them for not shooting the ball. I’m just going to have to be efficient. I’m going to have to play hard. I know I’m going to have a lot of minutes coming my way. I train for this. But we’re ready for it.

Q: Jimmy, Steve said Buddy is a two-way player now. How tough was it for you tomold him into that?

Jimmy: Yeah. He had his moments. I ain’t gonna lie. Butter—Butter has been stepping up big time on the defensive side of the ball for sure to start out the games. And it’s crazy because—I think he—what? You had two points at half? Two
points? But his defense was off the charts. And you got the toughest matchup inguarding Anthony Edwards. And then he came back still guarding at a high level and creating, making shots. Two-way player is a stretch, but Buttered is—he’s been key.
Jimmy： 對啦，他也有高光時刻。我不會騙你。Buttered這幾場在防守端真的站出來了，尤其是比賽一開始。他上半場只拿兩分吧？兩分？但他防守真的強得誇張。而且他還去對位Anthony Edwards，這是最難防的對象。他下半場回來後依然防守到位，還能創造機會、投進球。說他是雙能球員可能有點誇張，但Buttered真的很關鍵。

Q: For both of you guys—Buddy, you finished with eight rebounds. Jimmy, you came out and had six offensive rebounds in the first half. Just the mentality against this bigger team, going up and getting those rebounds.

Buddy: I think the mindset was boxing Rudy Gobert. He got a fair share of them,but I just boxed him out. We know what he did in the Lakers series and how effective he was, and we got guys doing their work early to prevent that. And just got to keep on continuing because if we continue to board and get out and play our basketball and put the ball in Jimmy’s hands—like we’ve all been talking about—and just trust him to make the right play, I think we’ll be in good shape.Buddy： 我的想法就是把Rudy Gobert卡在外面。他還是搶了一些籃板啦，但我盡量把他卡出去。我們知道他在打湖人那輪系列賽時有多有效率，所以我們整隊提前做好準備來限制他。我們得繼續保持這樣，搶下籃板後打出我們的節奏，把球交給Jimmy，就像我們一直說的那樣，相信他會做出正確選擇，我想我們就會處在一個很好的位置。

Q: Jimmy, there was some hype about you coming back, playing here for the firsttime since 2021. Did you notice the lght boos and the response?

Jimmy: That doesn’t bother me. But people do have to watch their mouth. You know, it’s cool with the boos and all that stuff. I get it. I understand. Let’s just keep it at that.
