The burden of renovation costs on Gwangju City is based on the contract signed between Gwangju City and Kia Motors when the stadium was built.

只不過這是依據光州政府和起亞虎當初簽的協議

協議中是寫翻新的錢是政府出

However, since Kia Motors generates hundreds of billions of won in revenue annually from Champions Field, there are growing calls for the company to expand its support for the local community, including contributions to regional development funds.

但起亞虎每年在球場賺了一堆錢

所以要求其擴大對地區發展支持$$$$$的呼聲越來越高

According to Gwangju City, some facilities at Champions Field, which celebratesits 10th anniversary this year, are aging, prompting consideration for renovation.

而為了慶祝十週年

光州政府是打算翻新球場老舊設施

This comes in response to the KIA Tigers' request for repairs due to damage to some of the seats and fading of the interior and exterior walls at Champions Field. The cost for Gwangju City to carry out these renovations is estimated at 2.5billion won.

起亞虎提出要換座椅、以及球場內外牆面褪色修復

而這預估要花25億韓元

In response, citizens have expressed confusion, saying, “The KIA Tigers are not an unpopular team, and the tickets for Champions Field are so hard to get thatit is sold out almost every day. I don't understand why Gwangju City should bear the renovation costs.”

但對此光州市民就就覺得起亞虎是一隻知名球隊

然後主場門票常常一票難求

不知道為何修球場的錢還要政府出

This question has been raised continuously since Champions Field was completed,and a re-agreement was even reached in 2017. Champions Field, used as the home stadium by the KIA Tigers, was completed in February 2014 with an investment of 40 billion won from Gwangju City, 30 billion won from national funds, and 30 billion won from Kia Motors.

這問題早在球場剛蓋好就有了

當初球場建造成本

中央政府 300億韓元
光州政府 400億韓元
起亞虎 300億韓元

At that time, Gwangju City, in recognition of Kia Motors’ investment of 30 billion won, provided a free lease to the company for 25 years, from 2014 to 2039. During this period, all profits from Champions Field go to Kia Motors.

也因為起亞有負擔300億韓元的建造費用

所以當初光州政府是給球團無償租用25年

然後場內收益全歸起亞

但這就有圖利球團的爭議

This led to allegations of preferential treatment, resulting in a re-agreement in 2017.

Acording to the re-agreement, Gwangju City is responsible for major structural renovations, including demolition or installation of major structures. This includes comprehensive replacement due to aging (windows, exterior materials, spectator seats, finishing materials, etc.) and complete painting (waterproofing). Kia Motors is responsible for partial replacement and repairs, such as replacing individual items damaged.

這導致2017年雙方重新協議

裡面也寫了光州政府負責球場大規模翻新

起亞負責小規模汰換

In addition, Kia Motors agreed to pay Gwangju City an additional 3 billion won for the Sports Development Fund over 15 years, which temporarily quelled the preferential treatment controversy.

起亞也同意支付30億韓元的地方體育發展基金（分15年）
