Musgrove and infielder Ha-Seong Kim were with the Padres until the final game of the postseason, when both were recovering from surgery.
Musgrove had his Tommy John procedure done by Dr. Keith Meister yesterday in Dallas, and Kim’s surgery to repair his torn labrum was performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles on Thursday.
Musgrove will not pitch next season, but his hope in getting the surgery immediately was that he could at least be throwing by spring training.
Kim, who is expected to elect free agency, is shooting to be in games by mid-April or perhaps May.
