“It’s a sad day for all of us who knew Jerry Sloan. Not only on the
basketball court but, more importantly, as a human being. He was genuine and
true. And that is rare.

對認識教皇的所有人來說，這都是難過的一天。不只在球場上，更重要的是，
做為一個人，他真誠且真實。

He was a mentor for me from afar until I got to know him. A man who
suffered no fools, he possessed a humor, often disguised, and had a heart as
big as the prairie.”

短評或心得：
大家都知道波波從不講場面話的，但稀有甚至可說唯獨對教皇一直以來都相當尊崇，
不只一次說自己一直都在學習教皇，勝場數超過教皇時也謙稱跟他不是同一個等級的，
說過早期馬刺就是學自爵士來建立球隊文化，也說過他不看影片就是聽了教皇的話，
教皇從主帥位置退下來後，他還曾親自邀請至馬刺看看，希望給予一點建議。

以他的級別，這當然是太謙虛了，但參考是肯定的，推崇也是毫無疑問的，
身為彼此少有公開交情的主帥老友，想必他也是真的很難過。

Before coming to Utah, I was certainly aware of Coach Sloan and what he
meant to the NBA and to the coaching world,” Snyder’s statement read. “
But, upon living in Utah, I became acutely aware of just how much he truly
meant to the state.

I was honored by the opportunity to follow in Coach Sloan’s giant
